Choosing dahlias for your dream garden: COLOR
Choosing dahlias for your dream garden can be very overwhelming - there are so many varieties and colors and forms available. I've created a series to share both here and on Instagram that I hope can give you some guidance finding your favorite varieties.
Let's talk COLOR.
The varieties we have on the farm
Color is very subjective and unique to each of us, even when it comes to flowers. Sometimes a favorite color flower might be based on a memory or if someone special in your life grew a certain color of bloom or you are just drawn to a certain color family!
If you feel overwhelmed with ALL the different dahlia varieties and don’t know where to start I suggest simply picking your favorite color. My very first dahlias were coral and orange dahlias (ball dahlias specifically - but that’s another post!) and cafe au laits.
Last season I gathered all different types of dahlias we grow here at Sawtooth Farm and grouped them by color family. I hope seeing the varieties we offer will help you create your dream dahlia garden - and maybe inspire you to try a few new varieties!
If you click on each of the photos below you’ll be taken directly to the shop for that color grouping.
I hope you enjoy! Honestly looking and hunting for different dahlia varieties is half the fun. :)
